Articles of Association of the undersigned, a majority of whom are citizens of the United States, desiring to form an association do hereby certify:
First: The name of the Association shall be Friends of Norris Lake (hereafter
known as "the association").
Second: The place where the principal office of the association is to be located is the State of Georgia and the County of Gwinnett.
Third: The association is organized exclusively for the purposes of pleasure,
recreation, and other similar non-profitable purposes. Said association shall
promote neighborliness and goodwill through the improvement of the
community and its lake. Substantially all of its activities are for these purposes under section 501(c)(7) of the Internal Revenue Code or the corresponding
section of any future federal tax code.
Fourth: Membership in the association shall be open to all residents of the
Norris Lake community, whether former, current, or prospective, by payment of annual dues in the amount of twenty five dollars or more. All members shall have the same rights and privileges, regardless of the amount of financial contribution. Said association shall not discriminate against anyone based on race, color, or
religion.
Fifth: The association may at any time hereafter, upon a majority vote of all
officers and any other members present at any regularly scheduled and properly announced meeting, make rules or bylaws which may restrict or allow the use of funds within the guidelines in Article Third.
Sixth: The names and addresses of the persons who are the initial trustees of the association are as follows:

Steve Jacobs, Vice-President 8419 Norris Lake Road, Snellville, GA 30039
Edwin Henderson, Treasurer 8565 Hightower trail, Snellville, GA 30039
Seventh: No Part of the net earnings shall inure to the benefit of, or be
distributable to its members, trustees, officers, or other private persons, except
that the association shall be authorized and empowered to pay reasonable
compensation for services rendered and make payments and distributions in
furtherance of the purposes set forth in Article Third hereof. Notwithstanding any other provisions of these articles, the association shall not carry on any other
activities not permitted to be carried on by an association under section 501(c)(7) of the Internal Revenue Code or the corresponding section of any future federal tax code.
Eighth: Upon the dissolution of the association, assets shall be distributed for one or more exempt purposes the meaning of section 501(c)(7) of the
Internal Revenue Code or the corresponding section of any future tax code, or
shall be distributed to the federal government, or to a state or local government, for a public purpose. Any such assets not so disposed of shall be disposed of by a Court of Competent .Jurisdiction of Gwinnett County Georgia, exclusively for such purposes or to such organizations or organizations, as said court shall determine, which are organized and operated exclusively for such purposes.
