The Norris Lake community is an established development of some 950+ homes located within Gwinnett and DeKalb Counties, seven miles south of Snellville, GA. The centerpiece of the community is 96-acre Norris Lake which provides excellent fishing, swimming, and limited boating privileges for residents and qualified guests.
Friends of Norris Lake (FONL} was formed in January 1999 by community homeowners with the goal of finding fair, practical, and long term ways to generate additional funds for lake maintenance. This small group of committed homeowners has continued to work, expand their goals, and grew to become what they are today.
The Friends of Norris Lake is a non-profit community support group, an organization of volunteer community residents. They are neither the Norris Lake Community Benefits Corporation nor the Board of Directors of Norris Lake Community Benefits Corporation, although many current and former board members are members of, and contributors to, the Friends of Norris Lake organization.
They are friends and neighbors, committed to the long term preservation and enhancement of the environmental health, recreational safety and security of the lake, attendant shorelines, infrastructure and facilities. FONL meets monthly to discuss goals and successes. They work together regularly to bring unity and involvement to the Norris Lake community. They play and relax together at every opportunity.
